Musical Director: Beryl Chalk
This show, by member Terry Shea, charted the life and times (from London to Kent) of the theatrical manager, Charles Morton who is known as ‘Father of the Halls’.
His story chronicles the development of musical theatre from folk and comic song to light opera and ballet, with reference to the ‘movers and shakers’ of the time.
Naturally the show culminated in enthusiastic audience participation that was the speciality of all music halls.
